The client
Mascot School Mart is a school-supplies retailer with a showroom in Mohali. Parents come to it for uniforms, textbooks, bags, shoes and stationery for their children's schools.
The challenge
Every school has its own uniform and its own book list, and both change from year to year. A general online shop would leave parents searching through products that do not apply to their child, and leave the showroom answering the same questions about what each school needs. The store had to work the way parents actually shop: by school first, then by item.
What we built
We built an online store with the catalogue organised around schools. Parents pick their child's school and see the uniforms and books that belong to it, while category menus for uniforms, CBSE and Cambridge books, bags, shoes and stationery stay available for general browsing. The showroom team manages schools, products and promotions from one back office.
- School-wise catalogue: uniforms and books grouped by school, so parents see only what their child needs.
- Accounts, wishlists and order tracking: parents save items, place orders and follow each order from their account.
- Uniform trade-in vouchers: families return outgrown uniforms for credit towards new ones, and the returned items are donated.
- Newsletter and promotions: a sign-up with a first-order discount keeps parents informed about new stock and offers.
Technology and our role
Built on the Microsoft .NET stack. Our role: design, development, hosting and ongoing support.
The result
Parents can buy a complete school kit online instead of visiting the showroom, and the Mascot team runs schools, products and orders from one place. We continue to support the store.
