Tej Sagar is a weekly newspaper from Patiala with readers across several states and three languages.
The challenge
A weekly paper has a long gap between print editions. The paper needed a place to publish news as it happens, a way for readers to find stories about their own state, and an online home for the printed edition.
What we built
A news site with category menus and a search by date and by state or union territory. The printed paper is published online as daily and weekly e-paper editions, and readers can register for an account.
- E-paper editions: daily and weekly editions of the paper, readable online.
- English, Punjabi and Hindi: readers choose their language from the header menu.
- State-wise news filter: stories filtered by state or union territory and by date.
- Galleries, events and video: photo galleries, event listings, horoscopes and video alongside the news.
Technology and our role
Built on the Microsoft .NET stack. Our role: design, development, hosting and ongoing support.
The result
The paper publishes between print editions and reaches readers online in three languages, and its printed edition is available to readers who cannot get a copy. We continue to support the site.
